How many a-holes will be dumping braces and braced guns on here over the next week?

No, that's the way it works.

The ATF has been handed the power to 'interpret' what the law means via the AG's office. It's not absolute, and hopefully will become a lot more restricted soon, but that's where things stand right now.
Well that just their opinion man and it doesn’t match mine

Honestly, if you have an SBR and are looking for a brace that would be compatible, this might be a good time to bargain hunt. Especially if you don't think this rule will stick.

But if you already have an SBR why would you want a brace to start with?
Anything else just makes you a felon.

No, that's the law and sorry, but unless you are the ATF, your 'opinion' doesn't matter. Actually, even if you are the ATF your opinion is moot or rescinded.

The simple fact is that his rule carries the weight of law right now. Hopefully that will be changed, but that's a hard, cold fact for now.

Seen a few folks trying to take advantage of the confusion to dump braces or braced guns on here since the ATF ruling on 1/13.

In case folks didn't wade through the 293 pages, as of Friday those things are SBRs or have the potential to make a gun an SBR. There is no legal way to transfer those items right now.

Yeah, it's stupid and it sucks, but for now it's also the law.

The ATF was very clear on this. Selling a braced gun is a felony right now. It's an SBR and you can't sell those without the right paperwork.

Don't know why the mods haven't jumped on this like they did with bump-stocks, but if you are looking at one of the ads up there right now.. save your pennies and your prison record.
No. They're not SBRs until the rule is published in the federal register. That'll probably be Tuesday. That's when the 120 day period begins. Until it's published in the federal register it means nothing. Regardless of when it was signed.

You've been pushing the Friday signing date really hard. You need to relax.

And why the hell do you care if people are trying to unload braces or braced firearms while it's still perfectly legal to do so.
