It has never given me any trouble. Guess I've been lucky!!
And please do not use a ****ing drill!!
Follow the dowel rod, and rubber hammer advise very easy and non aggressively it will come just do not hitting on it like trying to break a wheel bearing off off the axle, slow, easy, and with patience it will come out.
the newbie with a drill bit already has a dunce cap!!!! wooden dowel rod and a hammer as mentioned.

I believe my first call would be to Winchester. I bet they would be glad to help!
You're a better man than me! On our club property if you get a live round stuck, I'm going to have you case the gun and escort you with it to your car. You or someone else can deal with the live ones somewhere else.
The squibs I'll help you out. Brass stuck in a chamber I'll help you out. But if you have a live one you're putting that gun away, lol.
