For what its worth, I bought one (updated version) for a Krink SBR AK74. To my surprise, it did a fairly decent job. Definitely not hearing safe but what can is on a 8" barrel?

Is it the best can I own? No, but it serves its purpose just fine. So no complaints here.

I got the updated one, it is fine for the $300 I paid for it.

It's heavy and doesn't do anything particularly well except hang on to the end of the barrel.

The NI 4432 I had said it was barely hearing safe on a 16" generic AR . . . ~139db. Metered it against a M4-2000 which was almost 10db quieter.

I wouldn't shoot a Kestrel without hearing protection FWIW

If all you have is $300 them maybe fine. They have a very poor reputation. By the end of the day you will be down $500 so why not spend another $200 or so bucks and get a better can. You might want to check out Bryan Dobb's ARC30, it soon is to be in production and I have it first hand that it sounds great.

Bh10, I've read a lot about it and obviously ur experience with there customer service. Supposedly there working on that issue.
