QUOTE: "Most state agencies are importantly supported by funding mechanisms that are too tightly tied to revenue generated by hunting. Updating those funding structures would go a long way toward positive change. Many state agencies see their primary existential purpose as the promotion of hunting. This purpose is sometimes emphasized in agency mission statements. Positive change would include state wildlife agencies re-envisioning their purpose to focus on rewilding."

"A survey undertaken as part of the study found that Americans are not happy with the way things are currently run. The study found that Americans, even those who identified as hunters themselves, did not support the prioritization of hunting"

This is so vague and ambiguous it is likey cherry picked bologna.

There are a lot of places where the predation of deer is no longer happening because of the apex predators are no longer around to control the herds. So it's left a man to thin out numbers for the health and proliferation of overall numbers of the species. If they are allowed to proliferate out of control then the herds will suffer as a whole. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard since this country's pastime as deer hunters is looked down upon and it is a tradition and a necessity for some people. They won't be happy until they take every right we have away.

A survey undertaken as part of the study found that 51% of Americans are not happy about the thing and how it is currently run. They want the thing changed. The remaining 49% were undecided on the thing.

In another survey, scientists found 87% Americans didn't know what the thing was.
