I have a question for you guys.

i try not to buy new, that's why i'm here on this sight. but i have to put at least 10 down the pipe, even if the person i traded the gun from says that it was as reliable as taxes and death.
 
If it is a Glock or M&P usually just a 100 rounds to trust it. Anything else and I'd like to see 200-300 rounds before trusting it.
 
I dont care who makes it, if you dont prove reliability(that means more than a few range trips) with that specific weapon you are beyond silly to carry it. Period
 
Every pistol gets - at minimum - 200 rounds before its ready for duty. And at least 50 of those are the self defense rounds I plan on using.
 
I'm going to be honest, I cleaned my LCP and carried it a week before ever firing it. I've shot the snot out of it in the meantime, but I figured it was better than nothing if I needed it.
 
I'll usually put about 200 rounds through one before I'll carry it. I've ditched a few before the 200 round mark in favor of alternatives.

Glocks and XDs have rarely failed for me.
