It depends as to whether or not the DNR decides to press charges or not.
I think she should be held accountable the same as the father would have been, if had shot the elk.
There were a few elk running loose in N GA a few years back.

It's a 14 year old girl & the elk was 200 miles away from the area where the elk herd lives.
It's not like she was poaching or hunting over illegal bait.

Yep - I am glad she is hunting. Made a mistake but not that big a deal - elk should not be such a sacred cow. Reasonable hunting limits and rules apply but some common sense should cut the girl some slack - at least I hope they do
Exactly. It was an honest mistake and dad called DNR as soon as he realized what happened.
It would be a total dick move to press charges on that girl.
They have no season or protective status there, so unless they invent some new rule on the fly, she should be gtg.
