Marriage should be between a man and a woman (trannys don't count). Things like this is why America is so ****ed up now.
No, people forgetting the ideal of individual freedoms and sticking their noses in other people's business is why America is so ****ed up now.

Yeah, no. America is so f'd up because EVERYTHING, no matter how perverted or against the most basic human decency, is supposed to not only be tolerated but celebrated. People killing the unborn? Yes, celebrate and defend the 'right'! Same sex 'marriage'? The concept would just be comical if people weren't so damned ashamed of being guilted into accepting every single absurdity the left tries to shove down our throat.
The op got invited to a celebration of two perverts having their mental illness being the center of attention as our septic tank society demands. He's decided to go. Great. At least the thread is in the proper forum.
For some reason if you don't' celebrate such lunacy, you are "intolerant", a "bigot" whatever the left's nom du jour is for those that don't accept their idiocy. Like most, I have family and friends that are gay. I don't treat them any differently than I treat anyone else. I honestly could not care one single iota what relationships consenting adults choose to engage in. But I'll be damned if I'll attend a gay "wedding" to show support and endorsement for their perversion anymore than I'd attend a post abortion "Happy Death Day" party.

This freaking country can't even identify the most basic of wrongs anymore. We have somehow been shamed into being something that's indistinguishable from what made us the greatest civilization in all of history. No idea how we got here (oh that's right "progress") but I'm pretty sure there's no coming back from such a state.

I would argue that every wedding is a celebration of lunacy

Yeah, I don't get celebrating mental illness. Where does it stop?

Next up, Beastiality and Child Porn?
The ground work is being laid for pedophelia already. Many 'medical professionals' have already said "they can't help themselves" are encouraging ways to not have the animals ostracized by society, since well... you know.... they were "born that way". Sound familiar?
I seriously doubt anyone can come up with any perversion that somebody doesn't believe is a 'right' and the left doesn't defends. Hell, we are KILLING OUR UNBORN for crying out loud. What is more against human nature, by definition, than THAT?!?

This is not about your personal moral code and the only people that are wrong in their opinions are those that want to adjudicate other people's behavior when it does not effect those around them. I already know you are not one of those people, so cool.

As for what is killing this country, it's people that seem to have no ability to tell the difference between what should be legally restricted and what should not under the ideal of Rightful Liberty. You demonstrate exactly that by equating gay marriage (victimless) to abortion (victim). There should be plenty of laws concerning abortion because of the victim child involved. There is NO victim in gay marriage, so there should be no legal restrictions on it.

When considering freedom, it's okay for something to be "wrong" and legal at the same time. That's the foundation of a free society and everyone, both liberal and conservative, need to figure that out. THAT is the only chance we have to remain a free society and regain the freedoms we have already lost.

See my sig line.

And you are conflating individual liberty with attending a gay "marriage".
When it comes to the forced legalization of gay marriage on the states by the feds, I wonder if you realize the irony of Jefferson's comments about tyrants and "within the law"?
