The LaGrange, Georgia, man pleaded guilty earlier this month to weapons charges. His attorney hasn't responded to messages seeking comment.

Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth Thompson says the harsh sentence is meant to deter the illegal sale of guns in New York from lax gun-law states in the South.

Authorities say in seven months Quick sold $126,000 worth of handguns and rifles to an undercover New York Police Department officer.

That included a $20,000 sale of 25 firearms in a suitcase, the biggest single illegal buy in NYPD history.

Probably not the right attitude to have about all of this, but if the citizens of New York and other liberal urban centers are going to purchase "illegal guns", they might as well purchase them from Georgia and help Georgia businesses.

It's the illegal liquor business all over again. Product being moved from the South to the North thanks to bans and demands.
