I have had both the FN & HK guns and found the FN a better shooting and social work gun for me.

I have shot both he FN and the many makes of HK side by side and now no longer own my HK's.

Not that the HK or Glocks are bad guns...IMHO you really need to shoot them to appreciate the differences.
You might have smaller or larger meat hook hands and find the others more to your liking.

Also depends if it is a range gun or carry gun.

Exactly. This is exactly the point. My experience was exact opposite.
Had a FNX45T and HK45T at the same time. Shot them side by side and the HK was more accurate and more comfortable for me so I sold the FN which made me sad because I have a soft spot for that big old cinder block of a pistol.
