Kicking the hornet's nest, 40 S&W or 9mm for home defense

It's always going to be cheaper and easier to find ammo to feed the 9.

Even in a SHTF scenario the ammo most likely recovered will be 9mm pistol, .223 rifle and 12 gauge shotgun shells.

.40 any day for home defense, but I prefer to be ready for SHTF so that's why I believe in conversion barrels for the 23 (or 27 in my case), and at least 2 dedicated 9mm mags for that reason.

What do you mean getting to my rifle? It is never out of reach. My Glock 23 is IWB so long as I am wearing pants.

See, I use my sling shot to get to my pistol and my pistol to get to my long gun.

I've got a police trade in Glock 22 for my nightstand gun, so I roll with .40 S&W. But, I'd be fine with either. I just went the route I did because, in the event that someone breaks in and steals my G22, I don't have alot of money tied up in it.

I own both, and both fit me fine. But one thing for certain is this,,,,,,,,,,,,If, God forbid, i have to shoot someone who breaks into my home, tries to rob me, hurt my wife, or whatever reason, the one thing for certain is this,,,,,,,,,,The bad guy isn't going to come up to me and ask if i shot him with a 9mm or a 40 S&W.
