What did you end up using and how did it turn out. Here’s mine. Absolutely loved how it tasted.

I wound up hitting it with some SPG over the top and herbed butter all under the skin, it's still dry brining in the fridge, probably smoke it tomorrow...

That sounds great. Butter under the skin is the way to go.

Piddlin around the house today and forgot all about the turkey.

Just threw it on the smoker, might have some pics in a few hours...

My Rectec is apparently still jumping around in temperature, I adjusted rhe feed rate again.

So it cooked a little quicker than I was expecting but it hit 160° on the dark meat and it ain't burned so hopefully good to go. Letting it rest now.

Thank you for letting us know. Did Thanksgiving last weekend in Tennessee with 14 but yesterday was the 3 of us since oldest is in Asia. This is not the first time I ran to kroger because of your post. Thanks.
