CCI makes a round called the "Quiet" which has a standard size 40 grain lead bullet but a reduced powder charge that only lets it reach about 720 ft. per second velocity. From a rifle barrel, it is very quiet.

PS: it does not have the power to cycle the action of a semi auto, but it will feed reliably from any magazine fed repeater,
unlike shorts or even CB longs sometimes.

The CCI quiets are quiet. But they don’t shoot worth a darn out of any of my rifles. No good at all past 25 yards.
