Can somebody riding a bicycle be ticketed for a traffic violation?

meh, the use of bikes compared to vehicles is pretty limited if ya ask me. i dont see the reason for registration and yearly fee's.

mostly because i think bikes are more recreational than practical

i think they get fined for breaking traffic laws if a cop catches them zipping in and out of lanes during heavy traffic or if someone is super stinking drunk on a bike er something

Probably (or at least I hope so, some of the bikes are SERIOUS coin.) But what's your point? My point was he apparently thinks I have no problem with bicycle registration because I have some kind of problem with bicyclists. I don't have a problem with bicyclists, at all.

point is they are already paying and abiding by all the same laws, taxes, and regulations you are. My point is we should be working towards lowering taxes, regulations and laws on everyone before adding or supporting ANY new legislation that gives to the gov and takes from the people. No matter who they are.

It's just a shame that we feel we need laws/taxes/licensing (for any activity) for the 100% when probably less than 1% are the fly in the ointment.

Please tell me that you mean you have ridden a bike more than the sum of all of the people posting, otherwise this is the dumbest statement on this thread. It still kind of makes you sound like an arrogant ass considering we have a member that owns a bike shop...
