Lighter AR 10 Setups for Hunting

The quest for the lightweight accurate reliable ar10 continues. I shoot mine at my Arizona ocean front property while riding my unicorn.
Seriously though good luck on your search. Might look at the DPMS GII lite hunter (16" and 20" available). I couldn't get mine to shoot accurately worth a darn though.

I would check out the DPMS G2 series. They have reduced the weight in them to be more like an AR-15. I bought a DPMS G2 Recon and it is stupid accurate and I believe they came out with five new models in the G2 series, but don't quote me on that. Seriously check em out you'd be surprised at what they did with them.

I'd say go with this if you want a sub-7# rifle. You'll likely be a tad over 7# with a scope.

7,8,9lbs, after optics , ammo and possibly a suppressor, what's an extra pound or two? I think a bolt gun is the only way to really feel a difference.

9 pounds including optics is doable but its not going to be cheap. You will definitely have to go carbon somewhere.
