Lubing an AR

Good read. I’ve been living firing pin channels, and trigger groups. I don’t get much sand in my guns though.

I always use Auto Zone red high temp grease. It's good stuff, actually, and very cheap.
I do not apply the grease liberally on the cam pin, but definitely see the logic here and will start giving it more attention. Also the upper channels where the BCG rides is a spot I neglect.

I just use oil not a heavy grease like that. Max pro is my go to. I'm also guilty of putting a little oil on the trigger springs and firing pin. Glad I dont live in colder temps after reading that. I also use a tiny spray of rem dry oil in the barrel after using a bore cleaner. As they said a little oil is fine but not theirs because it's different I think I'm ok with that. Good read thanks for posting. Might have to clean out my trigger springs firing pin/channel.

I bought a gallon of USGI LSA and a quart of USGI LSA with Teflon years ago.

For the Garand I use Mobil 1 Synthesic Grease.

Interesting that Geissele recommends putting a small amount of grease on certain points on the trigger group.

Been using their stuff for a couple years now. Love it. Took a rifle into @REDX to cerokote. He shouldered it, gave a weird look to the rifle, followed by a weird look at me, asked why the **** does my SBR smell like dessert.

I may have to give them a try as my favorite lube (SlipStream) is no longer available. I wonder if cherrybalmz stains like the stuff I've been using. I have several shirts with black dots on them that are never coming out.

I’ll admit that I lube several of the places that he says not to lube. His reasoning is sound, though.
