M1 Carbine info

Inland was a division of General Motors. Does it say Inland on both the barrel and the receiver? What is the barrel Date? Does it have an import mark stamped on the gun anywhere? Is there a stamp in the wood in the rear sling cut out and if so what are the letters? To me it looks like non molested early gun that is somewhat beat up.

I THINK there’s a date on the butt of the stock. I will provide more detailed pictures tomorrow.
 
Yup, its a highwood I cut stock...early... need to seed whats stamped in that slingwell cutout... that will tell for sure who it was made for... unless it has been sanded in there.!!

The S/N under Indland Div has been removed 😭

I will get more detailed pics tomorrow.
 
Not the first time that I have seen that... just realized the sling is installed completely wrong also... So when you remove it to look in the sling cutout, you can reinstall the sling properly...:thumb:
