MOA vs MIL

I have it set for my 556. 6.5cr my 50cal muzzleloader and my 17hmr. Never any issues always on target long as you figure in the wind and bullet drop

So how does it work for all military snipers, but not for what a civilian can get? If you sight all your rifles and or pistols to the same range, everything is hit on point at the yards. So how does any caliber change itself. If you calculate in the wind and bullet drop. Everything you have just sighted in, will hit the same target the same way. So how does it not work for all applications?

That's not how it works.

Sheesh - talk about zero understanding.

1. That's not how it works "for all military snipers."
2. The military is not the gold standard on shooting at range anymore. Not even close. The military is slow as molasses in adoption of new methods, techniques and equipment. The civilian market is not. Military snipers train with competitive shooters a lot these days as civilian shooters are not locked into stale contracts and training methods.
3. Different calibers have differing ballistics. Even changing the projectile changes things drastically. There is no absolute in a zero and downrange dope from caliber to caliber, projectile to projectile, changing atmospherics, etc.

The method you have chosen is great for some very limited applications. Horrible for others.
 
You want some simple fun, try the 6.5 hack. Not perfect, but does work well-enough for SOME applications out to 800 yards or so. But again, it's not perfect. Does not work well for all applications. And has some very definite limitations.
Everyone has their own way of things. However my 6.5cr is set may way and I can tag targets out to 1000 yards with calculating wind and bullet drop. Even if the drop is 27 inches after 800 yards. Knock on wood haven't missed a vital hit yet

I'd love the opportunity to shoot with you some day. Sounds like I could learn a lot. I've never had the pleasure of shooting with someone that has never missed. I've shot with countless of the worlds best long range shooters, and unfortunately, I've seen all of them miss. I'd love to learn your secret sauce, so to say. Must be quite impressive.

I reckon they don't shoot as much as I do lol. Give me any rifle an 8 inch plate and stick me on the mountain a state over I'll still light it up
