My grandparents had a 19" Kmart TV that had the same remote. And it was a radio frequency remote instead of IR remote. So you could change the channel from the next room. But there was no entering a channel. Just up and down.

Ted did the 5 minutes ater the top of the hour and half hour just so he'd have his own pages in the TV Guide, separate from all the other networks that scheduled shows at the top and half after the hour. Made it easier to find the WTBS listings in the mag. Smart thinking dude back then.

See that makes perfect sense. I mean Ted Turner turned out to be a rabid libtard but you can't deny his bidness genius. I was never a big sports fan but I still remember him sitting in the front row at Braves games when they really sucked and then trying to take over management duties. Seems like 100 years ago.

Yea, I didn't have my own TV till I was in my 20s. I felt like a king as well. It was a little 13'' B&W
