NASCAR

This is one of the biggest problems they have, there are really only about 3 or 4 teams that control the sport and can afford to put the kind of money and resources that are required to win. The days of the weekend racer or the single car owners being able to compete are over.
The owners wanted to appeal to the more urban and sophisticated audiences and alienated their core followers.
The problem is that the people they pandered to have short attention spans and the people who really enjoyed the sport and supported it for 50 years have been driven off.
Case in point. The Trump car. Team / driver Joe Nemechek. Not a big team . Him and couple others been scratching it out to just get there.

don't look too good for Newman, that car is destroyed. Hopefully he will make a full recovery, but I imagine he has a couple of months of recovery in front of him. No more news. They did put up mesh screens when they removed him from the car to prevent photos/video. Told all media to leave the pit area.

New reports say roll cage over Newman's head was destroyed and collapsed. If you look at the replay, he hit the wall, got elevated a bit and turned with the driver side of the car facing oncoming traffic. Then hit a second time by ???? which really got him airborne and the hit was directly on the side of the car where his head would've been.
