Need some girl advice. Real tricky situation...

Hmm. A conundrum for sure. I usually tell ppl that all's fair in love and war. Especially when you talking about possibly spending forever with someone, there will hopefully never be another closer relationship than with the girl. I think almost everything is worth risking for a chance with that person.
If Swims friend views Swim as a brother too, he'll have no problem with Swim pursuing that sort of a relationship with the girl.
If he does have a problem with it, Swims friend sounds like a selfish person, and not one to view as a brother.

SWIM is 26, the girl is 24.

Considered that, but this thread is dangerous enough to SWIM without adding photo evidence. She is about 5'3, 105lbs, brunette. If SWIM didn't already know her he would probably have thought she was way out of his league. (shes def a lot easier on the eyes than SWIM is!)

Tell SWIM to talk to his friend first and let him know what's going on. If SWIM dates said girl and the friend finds out, then SWIM might very well find himself SWIMMING with the fishes! Lol

SWIM's friend already met a cruel fate with this girl. SWIM would be dating the one girl that really ripped his heart out, which is why SWIM feels so conflicted.

Just tell the dude you're (I mean SWIM) has feelings for her and you (I mean he) is going to see her and you (I mean he) hopes the dude is OK with it. If he's not, he's not a real friend and he can bite your (I mean SWIMS) Butt. If he doesn't like it, too bad.
