Once you get the ultra light, use 4# fluorocarbon. It's basically invisible in the water. Trout are visual hunters and have very good vision. I have no doubt that any trout that got anywhere near a 20# braid saw it.

Panther Martin in-line spinners are great too, and spin really well in slow streams.
