Nephews first .22lr options?

Pop for an AR and get the .22 conversion.

He will thank you later!

Ruger American .22.

Or 10/22.

A bolt will teach him discipline or you can load one round at a time in the 10/22 mag.

i think you should do something classic like the the Remington model 4 or the Steven's favorite. Single shot and something he would truly appreciate when he was older (especially if you refinished it together as he grows...)

cannot beat the fun of a Henry lever action.
my first 22 was a Winchester lever action. makes you feel like a Cowboy cranking that lever shooting cans

A single shot will sit in the closet or safe when he gets a little older.
Get him a 10-22 and let him spend his own money and time tricking it out.

Awesome feedback. Thanks gents!
Ill start kicking around ODT and look for some of rjoae models. 10-22 is something he can grow into - like the acccesory fun as he grows up. There is something about a classic bolt too and replaceable stock as he grows. Maybe a Ruger take down?
Great start. Not lookig to go to cheap - I'll invest in something he can use for years and time we can spend together.

Your on the right path, there's no way to go wrong with a 10-22. Over the years he can change it into the rifle he wants or keep it the same way it is. For the money you cant beat them. In my opinion every gun owner in America should have no less than 1 10-22 in their house.
