Walmart has a new kind of BB gun on the shelves, just in time for Christmas.
It's a multi-pump pneumatic BB gun that can also shoot .177 pellets.
Pump it one to 10 times. With BBs the velocity will go from 200 to 700 f.p.s.
With alloy (light weight) pellets, it could go over 800 f.p.s. with 10 pumps.
Has good iron sights, but no provisions for scope mounting.
It looks just like one of those Herny lever action brass-framed rifles with an octagonal barrel.
Cost is $59, per the WalMart website.
I saw these in WalMart the other day. Opened the box and handled one, in the store. (Good thing I didn't get the cops called on me or get shot, right? But I was saved by my white privilege.)
It is very light. Feels like a toy to an adult, but to a kid, it may be a good rifle.
The length-of-pull on the stock is probably good for a boy of about 8-13 years. I don't think this is the right size for a truly small child, in the 5-6 year age.
