New to the red dot optics game...

I've had or have trijicon, vortex, eotech, burris, holosun, dpp, etc and there is NOTHING wrong with holosun. they are great optics. they used to be on the economic side but not anymore. anyone saying otherwise is just a hater. just like mj riders who hate on lbj for no reason, :very_drunk: they will try to play the "mAdE iN gYnA" card while typing from a chinese keyboard

PS: keep both eyes open when shooting through a red dot
I agree... Holosuns worked very well for me. Performance has nothing to do with the change.

I would advise you to go into a gun store and look at as many as you can mounted up. Depending on your eyes, some will be much clearer than others. You will have to determine on how big a dot you want. Large dot-fast locate on target, small dot- more precision and can be slower on target. Also, try the different colors as I find green much easier to identify dots when looking thru them. If you have shooting buddies with them mounted up, try to arrange a shoot and check out the different manufactures. Holosun Circle-Dot is good, ACSS-Vulcan is also good; but takes a little practice since it is different shape. Another thing to check out if how hard it is to turn off and on.

OK this phrase bothers me. I'm thinking about getting one for a Glock 20 but I have one good eye and only peripheral vision in the other. So how does that effect seeing through a red dot?
Doesn't matter. You focus on your target and the dot will appear in front of it.

P.S. Trijicon only. You can find RMRs for $400. Doing R and D for the chicoms isn't even cheaper anymore.

that part i cant say because i dont know how it is to have visual impairments. but with both eyes open, the idea is to super impose the dot over the target

So far, so good
