New vehicle turbo motors

From what I read, guys were saying for with a Frontier V6
I had an ole Nissan Hardbody with a V6, good truck. The problem is, I let the dealer work on it. The front axle fell out of it. If I'd bought the slightly more used Toyota next to it, I'd still be driving it.....Live and learn

If you struggle with upkeep and maintenance then you’d better think twice. Modern turbo engines with phasers dont fair well if ignored. And if you’re ignorant/gullible enough to rely on the oil change light, you’ll end up meeting uncle RODney before you’ve made your last payment.
Well, I do my own vehicle maintenance, I understand the heat and lubrication thing. I'm not ignorant or gullible, so, I'll do ok.

Just got my wife a ‘23 Explorer 3.0 twin turbo V-6. Traded her ‘17 4 banger turbo in on it. Her 17 was bought new and only had 21k on it when traded. The 23 is fast and strong. No comparison to the 17. This one had 18k on it still under factory warranty and we added warranty to a 100k. I keep her oil changed every 3-4k miles. It’s a keeper…

If you get a turbo engine
Change the oil every 3 k

Do NOT let it go past that no matter what the owners manual says .

But I’d still stick with an older V-6 or V-8

Everything made during and since covid is total garbage quality with lots and lots of problems .

I agree. And really since 2000 probably

Never could talk myself into anything with a turbo. I’ll stick with the old man’s V-8 . Both my wife’s Tahoe and my Silverado have the 5.3L
A good ole V8 and a full frame is hard to beat. The only turbos I've ever had are diesel. And that's a different animal. And of course, rear wheel drive. That said, Toyota makes a great V6. At least they used to

Don't the Tacoma's offer a 4.7 l V8 option. If they do this is what I would go with. That engine is supposed to be almost bulletproof and you get the reliability and smoothness of the V8 engine. Like once said previously there is no replacement for displacement. Horsepower and torque numbers are good and that is all there is to it!
