OK, so back 10 years ago I set up a NFA trust with my wife and two sons included. I am looking to buy a new can and don't want to put everyone through the hassle of creating an account and fingerprinting. I talked to a Silencer Shop rep the other day that told me it wasn't a good idea to amend my trust to delete and then add back on my wife and sons, as it could throw a red flag. He said everyone on the trust needed an account that would then be merged into my trust account. Sounds like a PITA. Should I just do the "one time" trust to make it simple? If I do, can I later put it into my regular trust?
Any input is appreciated.

My trust is set up for easily removed or added people on to it. The attorney who set up your trust will know how yours is set up.

I just did individual on my can, as my wife and girls don't shoot w/o me, so it made sense and usually has a faster approval time.

can always add people to the one shot trust as well.

As I recall I had the same issue. The answer was to change/make an additional page to the trust saying that I was the only one on the trust. Submit the paperwork. After the item is in your possession that additional page can disappear.
That is exactly what I thought. Heavy D did my trust nine years ago, and I remember discussing that with him. The guy at Silencer Shop said that wasn't a good idea to delete and add people. Heck, it's not like I buy a lot of stuff.
With my trust there is a form listed "Change of Beneficiaries". Do I fill that out and submit it with the trust to Silencer Shop? If so, how do I add them back on after approval?
If I do the single shot trust, how do I add them to it?

Don't do a single shot trust if you already have a trust brother.

Contact Heavy-D Heavy-D and he could walk you through the process but I bet in your paperwork the answer is there.

MIGHT be easier to file as an individual...and pay the $200 to xfer to your trust later IF the big beautiful bill doesn't pass.

Filing as a trust is still a long, drawn out process from what I understand. You probably won't see the fast turnarounds that individual forms are getting.

It's 4 days difference in approval from individual vs trust according to the ATF posted wait times, if E filing.
