Nicest bottle of Whisky or Whiskey

Yeah, you should be drinking it neat for sure. Make sure to rinse the glass well, and have some water between samplings. The burn is just the alcohol, but the Scotch should also have a lot of heather, honey and smoke. The booziness shouldn't be the main attraction, but it does help carry the flavors.

These things always make more sense and you are more aware of them when someone with the proper nomenclature and experience describes it... :tea::thumb:

This is my favorite scotch. A masterful blend of peat smoke, and heather/honey, and oak. Every time I drink it I can see the peat bogs and the sea.
For much less, Laphroaig 10 ($45) is excellent. Smokier, not as refined, but solid.

Yeah man. Here's what the master of malt has to say about the 10 year old.

Nose: Very fruity and thick. Rich notes of lemon, nectarine and apple. Spices.

Palate: Fresh and balanced, vanilla. Boiled sweets, very creamy, tiramisu, toffee.

Finish: Quite long, gentle, malty and very fruity.
