Also I was a non-supprter for a good while before becoming one. Never was treated any differently than I am now. Nobody has laid a law saying pay 15 dollars or you can't use the site. Oh well.

im not manipulating your words, you said "I just get irked when non-supporters expect unpaid volunteers to do even more than they are already taxed with. Oh and they never get any appreciation, just more grief. "

If you dont care about anyones opinons you should have left out the non supporters part of your statement.

 Why do i bother? (<- rhetorical) Fine, dude, I appreciate the lesson.

In the early days of Amaerica only a land owner could vote. There are plenty of sites that you have to be a supporter to even post. If someone came to my yard and tod me where to plant a shrub should I listen? Would you listen? My $.02 is that Okuma can do as he pleases and the market will decide. If people don't like his decisions they can go elsewhere
I like the way he runs things here and so do 1000s of other people.

Should a supporter's opinion matter more than a non-supporter? .uh, yes...

Look at it this way. If a bunch of guys go on a road trip and some won't help pay for gas why should they choose destinations when they are just "bummin a ride"

nevermind all the advertising revenue generated and word of mouth people contribute to the website

more than just a dollar sign value here

besides, i dont think it was ever about supporter status or not. i simply posted as a consumer, that if fraudulent ads or dishonest postings were rampant, i would not find as much value in this website

its pretty simple. no one is making a demand here about how the website is run, simply the consequences of certain policies based on the utility the individual user derives

Because supporter status doesn't mean jack. My supporter badge is for life because I was here in the early days and back then it was a lifetime deal. Do you know how much money I sent Okuma Steve to get it? 5 bucks. That's right, 5 ****ing dollars. I am not alone on this.

Now how much ad revenue (you know, the way the site actually makes money) do you think non supporters generate for this site? How many page views do you think Chucklenut has generated with the crazy **** he posts here? I guarantee it is a far greater amount than many of the "supporters" have paid.

So who is "bummin a ride"?

I have to agree that I can't stand a liar and thief.

It's true that a lot of people (myself included) just read posts before becoming a member and then later became a site supporter.
Surely nobody thinks anyone is getting rich off of this site. An add is $200 a year that's 10x less than even a radio spot.

Come to think of it if it boils down to views to get an advertiser to buy an add then "non-lib after midnight" stuff getting sanitized makes no sense. In fact sanitizing anything is potentially "costing profits"

unless sanitizing something is upholding a standard

for instance, i bet porn adds would generate mucho bank, but this is a family friendly website (technically) and alot of users wouldnt want to see that

Sorry it took so long for me to respond, but I was comprehending your post thoroughly.

You never made mention a specific case, but the case at the center of this thread is the focus of this discussion.

We remove posts that contain illegal items or ask the seller to correct a listing if it is blatantly misrepresented (ie posting a Sig 229 and labeling it a Glock 19, etc.). However we are not in the business of investigating ads in depth. We don't have the man power, the time or the energy to do so.

And no one pissed in my corn flakes, I just get irked when non-supporters expect unpaid volunteers to do even more than they are already taxed with. Oh and they never get any appreciation, just more grief.

I'm sorry if you recieved that as being pissy...it wasn't meant to be.
I never met a mod I didn't like!:)
