No Renewal on Carry Permit? As per Gwinnett website; http://www.gwinnettcounty.com/portal/gwinnett/Services/FirearmPermit
They are either raking us over the coals, or a lot of good people have gone bad!

State law got rid of renewals. Every issued license get the background check and costs the same now.

I wonder if they'll let you keep your old one while they proscess the new one. I know it takes awhile with gwinnett to get you permit. when I applied for mine in Barrow County I got it in a few days. My buddy who lives in gwinnett took about a mo.

I think gwinnett is around 2 weeks now, and for a $1 you can get a temporary permit,(90 days) if yours is about to expire.

The State did away with renewals to allow the GFL/GWL to be compliant with Federal Background Check Laws when purchasing a firearm.

I applied for mine in Gwinnett right after thanksgiving. They said it would take 30 days minimum, I got mine in 10. I also got the temp permit for $1

The temporary permit does NOT allow you to purchase guns w/o a background check and they are for 90 days

I purchased 2 with mine. Only confusion was them trying to figure out the expiration date because it says the date of issue then good for 90 days
