ODT selling/trading slowing down

Here's an excellent example. Unless you're looking for just a highly specific rifle You can go to the PSA site right now and buy a complete upper for $229. You can also buy an unassembled lower kit for $99 or the complete lower assembled for $119. That's either $348 or $328 depending on if you want to assemble the lower or not. I guarantee you if you go to the classifiers right now you will not find a PSA rifle under $500.
I will have to call you on that. I have them for $458. Same price (or lower than) they have been for several years. But with that you also get free transfer and no shipping. And the prices you are quoting are usually for blems where mine are not. Although PSA blems are generally pretty hard to find the defect.

Yeah but yours are new my friend. I'm talking about individuals posting used firearms. You have treated me right on parts so there are no complaints from me about CTS tactical. You are good to go and I highly recommend anyone to go to you for parts or guns. 😁

I had gotten the feeling and impression that prices in general were the result of "price Gouging." As Biden's socialist party took control prices went up. As Covid complications increased, that drove price also up - most people selling on such forums began to apparently do their own price gouging. "If prices are going up, I'm going to get mine too!"

In the last few months I have seen possibly three guns I would have purchased/bid on except for the almost laughingly high asking price. The old and outdated ploy of starting so high so you can come down in price (as planned) and still make extra money on the sale is just too obvious and too "gouging."

I have noticed, as you have, that reasonably priced items do indeed move - is there a lesson to be learned here?

Exactly my point. I sell new stuff cheaper than most want for used. The dealer section has been the best place to look for deals on ODT for years. The rest of it is hit or miss. I have picked up a few good deals on here but generally it is like you say. People want more for their used stuff than what dealers right here on ODT sell it for new.
Lever guns are what is completely nuts. I see them actually selling on Gunbroker for 4-8 hundred over dealer cost. Pre covid I would generally sell a used Marlin 336 for $350-$400 depending on condition. Now I cannot even get my hands on one for less than $600-$750. And those are not anything special.
