Optics on an FNX 45 Tactical-base plate under a Venom Vortex or no base plate?

Who has an FNX 45 Tactical with the slide optic, not the Vortex that was a promo several years ago, but an aftermarket Venom Vortex? Venom tells me that the red dot optic has to be mounted on a plate with the little tits so keep the red dot Venom Vortex from sliding around and losing its' zero.

I know nothing about red dots on pistols and have come into this, so wanting to know what do you guys run on a Venom Vortex/FNX 45 tactical setup.

Gotta run the plate. But please, put a better optic on there than that vortex.
