"Q" firearms. Quality or marketing hype?

I’m failing to understand why it’s overpriced by this response.
The only thing you reiterated is: a person who doesn’t understand and is uneducated on the product will always believe it’s the same product even when it isn’t.

I’d say it’s because there are other options like the Sig Cross that check all of the form factor boxes, and typically are better shooters. I’m sure sigs production costs are much lower, and I’m sure that has something to do with it. That said, Q entered the market, you need to consider if you can be competitive in the eyes of the consumer.

We had the Fix out at a session a couple weeks ago with some very cheap lightweight hunting guns on the line. The Q was the most expensive by a significant margin. We had a Taurus, Savage, some other low end guns and the Q was the worst of the bunch, right at 4 moa. Yes, 4moa with match ammo

I was absolutely shocked, but it was among the best shooters of all the rifles on the line.

That one slipped below my radar. Looked at it on their website, and I like the specs.

It isn't an easy rifle to shoot well, but the inconsistency seemed like a borderline defect.
