I know this one will get somewhat spirited - because I'm on a budget - but what's the best bang for buck on a spotting scope that needs to be 'good' out to about 400 yards if I'm on an $800 budget?
I'm shooting targets, not game, so I'm not awfully bothered about weight, and given the application, I think something around 15-45 magnification should be sufficient - but correct me if I'm wrong.
