Hey Q, I’m in Fla with my extended family. We are all sitting in a giant den about to watch Wrestle Mania, and I’m reading this thread….and everybody keeps looking at me and saying “WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT!!!!”

I stand by my previous statement.
His childlike wonderment coupled with his ability to involve himself in every situation going on in his vicinity, to much chaotic effect, has placed him in my Top 10 Hero List.

I got a good story for ya then. It's long...
FIL bought his wife an expensive ring in Mexico when we were on a cruise. He asked to put it on my declarations bc I basically had none and he was going to be over and he didn't want to pay the tariff. Being the brand new son in law and they paid for the trip, I felt obligated even though I didn't want to do it.
Sister in law and her family went through customs and went outside to wait on us. The door locks when you go through it and you can't come back in.
In laws go through customs. No issues. But you know my luck. When I go through, the agent sees the ring listed and asks me to see it.
"My Mother In Law is wearing it." So we had to call my in laws back to show the lady the ring.
"I need to see the receipt." Of course I don't have it.
So the jig is up, but at this point instead of admitting defeat, my FIL starts arguing with the customs agent and causing a scene, I'm thinking we're both going to jail and I'm being as cooperative as I can possibly be. They escorted him to a back room by himself. I'm stunned and the baggage handler is telling my MIL that if her husband doesn't check himself, he's getting locked up, he's seen it happen before.
SIL calls on the cell bc none of us have made it out yet and we were right behind her. I told her her dad's headed to jail
He finally comes out with the agents and agrees to pay the tariff, they don't have enough cash so they were going to have to reboard the cruise ship to get to an ATM, at which point I opened my wallet and threw all my cash on the counter and told them to take what they needed.
Finally get outside and get reunited with everybody. I told the BIL "I'm getting a beer wherever we go eat!" My in-laws work for a church so they don't drink. BIL bet me $20 I wouldn't order a beer. He was right, I ordered 2. To this day he hasn't paid up.
