Ruger No. 3 .375 Winchester

I would love to have a #3 but I never did understand the choice of calibers that Ruger offered it in. I would have thought more popular deer calibers like 243, 30-30 or 35 Rem would be good for that platform.

I wish Ruger and Lipsey would produce a No.1 in .35 Rem, I actually made my own .284 Win. Either way, the No.1 is a fine rifle, and a hand loaders dream.

I have a ruger No 3 in 375 as well. Never shot it, sits in the safe. In a pinch you can shoot 38-55 through it I'm told. I have shot the 45-70 a few shots. mine is a very early one without tap holes for a scope. Another rifle I purchased with the romantic notion of carrying it hunting, only to sit idly in safe while I carry a bow to the woods.
