Ruger Speed Six .357 worth ???

my brother may be willing to sell his, but I'm finding it difficult to find one like his to gauge what it's worth. I'm not buying it. He just wants to know. On gunbroker there's one like his, 2 3/4" stainless, with bids beginning at $495. *Somebody help me out.* It's built like a tank. Production on the Six models ceased in '88 and was replaced by the GP100.

Use the Service Six as your benchmark...

Speed Six is basically the Service Six (fixed sight model) with a shorter barrel and a rounded butt-stock.

I'd guess $350 - 500 depending on condition, unless it's the 9mm version (worth a lot more) . Be aware that the grips are different for serial #'s below 151. Very, very limited grip options for these if you can find any at all.
