Ok I really don’t know much/anything about scopes so I have always asked here. Have had a 15-22 for a few years and want to put a scope on it. Had a red dot but could never get it to zero so I want to add a scope. What power would you recommend? Thanks

A fixed 4X scope with a 1" tube and a 32mm front lens,
with a lot of eye relief and a generously sized "eye box"
at the ocular lens that makes your head placement not so critical...

... and set from the factory to be parallax free at 50 yards...

is the most practical rifle scope to have on a semi auto 22 rimfire rifle
that is field grade or pinking grade, and is not intended for benchrest shooting.

A long eye relief 2x-7x hands down is your best choice. Sight it in at 75 yards using regular ammo (1,260 fps or thereabouts) and you'll hit anything you shoot at no matter what ammo you use after that.

Don't go with anything fixed power. You'll be greatly disappointed as that's too impractical for close range shooting of any kind, especially is you're planning on shooting plates in the 25 - 50 yard range for time.
