I use to get stressed while driving, and it is pretty easy around here. I just stopped caring about it anymore. If someone wants to go I let them go. If someone cuts me off then honks their horn I just ignore it. I have good tunes in while I drive and I have become Comfortably Numb. I get there when I get there.

You'd be surprised how many thugs have stolen 1911's. Everyone wants to brag how it's the no. 1 selling handgun in this country, but somehow none of them ever get stolen and used on streets? I've seen plenty of footage of criminals with 1911's.

Also, if the road he was on widened from one lane to two, he obviously wasn't on any major roadway (i.e. I-20, etc.) where there would be dozens of witnesses. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong or doesn't have valid qestions, but I think the jury is still out on this one.

Shoulder is on the right the median is on the left.

If you're driving on a road which is one way on each side and divided by a median (i.e. I-20 out in the sticks) the left side of that particular lane is actually called the left shoulder, not the left median.

exactly and by his statement he said he changed lanes to allow the aggressor who was tailgating him and driving faster over. Normally this means he would have merged right. Faster traffic stays left, slower traffic stays right.

You don't drive 285 much do ya?

I don't think anyone here means any disrespect but simply put the story is just not adding up as it is told. Nobody here can find any news report of it which even here in metro Atlanta this would make the news and to top it off his story/statement has some..issues as it is currently told. Really if this was a real shooting I am glad nobody was hurt. Because my personal opinion from what I have read is there was no victim in this shooting. It sounds to me like there were two aggressive individuals who couldn't put their egos in check while diving, let it boil over to the point of guns being pulled and shots being fired.

I find it very hard to believe that basically in a 2 year period, only 6 road rage incidents involving guns happened in Georgia. Especially knowing how bad crime is in the metro area.

After the cops took my statement, I asked them "are you going to charge me with anything? Do I need to contact my lawyer (whom I'd already spoken with while the cops were investigating)?". The cops response; "Charge you? You did exactly what I would have done."

Welcome to the trader sir. I would like to thank you for joining the ODT and commenting recently. Seems lot Monday morning quarterbacks are looking for work around here. It appears so at least and I may have contributed to that as I may have poorly communicated the incident-topic of this thread. For that I truly apologize.

It also appears a lot folks around here have no issue with calling into question one's integrity. Perhaps that's just the character trait of that particular individual or more so related to their line of work. They obviously don't know you.

Thank you for all you have done as a decorated U.S. Army Ranger, continue to do for the veterans/VFW, the active duty soldiers and their families. I hope the toys for deployed soldier's families were well received. That was a really good thing you did. I sure the men deployed were grateful for the thought.

Lastly, thank you for taking the oath. For some it is mere words but you and I know is more brother.
