Why?
with SV or Target ammo, max velocity is achieved around the 14" - 18" mark, Then friction starts to take over slowing the projectile down.
There is nothing to gain from a longer barrel in a 22LR shooting at standard velocities except weight and looks.
Sure your sight radius would be better if shooting iron sights but there are better ways to accomplish that.
