Shouldering a brace?

ORIGINAL POST: "Can someone please inform me on what the current laws state about shouldering a brace. I feel like this changes from year to year and I could be wrong about that.
Is it legal for me to shoulder one at a range?

Thanks for the info. It'll help me decide how my next build is configured."

No, it is not legal to shoulder one at the range, per ATF's latest decrees.
I have shouldered them before, and I must say that the length of pull is too short for me. And I generally like shorter-than-normal butt stocks. A 12" to 13" pull is fine for me.
But these AR "arm brace" things were too short to comfortably and quickly use as a shoulder stock, and I think greatly inferior to a real stock for that purpose.
I have no interest in one.
If I want a shorty AR, I'll go the SBR route and pay the $200 tax.
