I am working on a technique where I introduce electricity to a damp wood and it gets a lightning effect. Not sure how popular it'll be but they sure are beautiful. If I don't electrocute myself before the new year I'll post pictures

It depends on my opinion. If the gun looks like butt, refinish it! But if you have a rare gun or not sure... ask a local gunsmith. I would want a civil war gun left alone, but I would want a nice refinished gun on something else. So many folks want to refinish guns like a hobby that it’s almost better to leave them unfinished

I see a few Mannlicher stocks in that collection. I love it. Is that a 30 cal carbine in the front there? It sure looks like one.

Get some Triple F stock rubbing compound and some degreased 0000 steel wool. Gently rub the stocks, wipe them off and then rub some paste wax on them. It will gently clean it up without ruining the finish and retain the color. I would not do this on something with a real glossy finish, like an M44 or the like. It will matte the finish.

It really depends on restoration or refinish
