I think my ABS can be turned off, but unless it poses an issue on the track, I will probably just leave it on. That's a safety net that I like.
My Super Tenere has Abs, 3 modes of traction control, and two riding modes (touring and sport). I left the abs on offroad on a trip out to Big Bend, and never had an issue. I did have to turn traction control off. Sometimes you just need to spin that rear tire up, especially in the sandy washes.
