steve was not what i would consider a pet, he was more for looking at. thats because steve was a tarantula. a full grown male A. seemanni and he was also a raging jerk

male tarantulas dont live as long as their female counterparts, with their lifespan typically coming to a dramatic end with the female of the species preying on and cannibalizing the male (hey sounds familiar dont it). well, steve never molted and i had him for like 2 years so he just stopped eating and then one day decided he wasnt going to be insanely aggressive like he was for his species
