Stolen Truck from Kennesaw Mtn.

Yup unfortunately seems to be happening more and more. Most of the time our stolen cars turn up south of I-20 in Atlanta. Groups come up to the north metro area and hit near the interstates and then hop back on and head south.

They’ll usually hit business areas/parks/public areas during the daytime and then residential areas at night, usually midnight or later when people have gone to bed. Especially apartment complexes and neighborhoods where the houses/driveways are close to each other so they can hit as many cars as possible. Most of the time they’re looking for unlocked doors because it’s easy and quiet. But they will bust windows if they see something inside that they want. A neighboring agency I believe recently had a homeowner get in a shootout with a group that was breaking into his car. So just something to keep in mind that these guys are often armed. Even the juvenile ones.

Uh, yes it is. Why anybody leaves their gun in their car, likely unlocked, blows my mind. I’m sick of people leaving their guns in their car and then getting mad when they get stolen. We take reports for this happening all the time. Is it his fault his stuff got stolen? No. But by being careless and not properly securing his firearm it is now in the hands of someone that can use it against innocent civilians and law enforcement.

This is America. It is his choice. None of your business why. I have had a 1911 in my vehicle for 30 years. Never been stolen. If someone steals it tonight i will replace it and put it in the truck and it isn't anyones business. No one else is held to your opinions. If you dont like it you got options like move to NYC.

Like I said, my opinion. You may feel differently after you’ve had a criminal pull a stolen handgun on you during a traffic stop. Before this career, I shared your same opinion.

Would it have made you feel any better if he had obtained the firearm from someone on here. Or had bought it before he was a Criminal? There's over 400 million Firearms privately owned in the United States, if a bad guy wants a firearm he's going to get it. The key is to keep these criminals locked up. If you're in law enforcement I don't have to tell you that a vast majority of patrol cars have a patrol rifle that stay in them all the time. Most of our officers here have a fully automatic AR-in the trunk of the car, all it takes is a screwdriver buddy.

Meh, kinda is when you make it easy for a criminal to steal your weapon and use it against you, your neighbor, or someone else

But positive and responsible safe control of your weapon is no one elses business right lol

what vehicle are you driving?
