If you own a Taurus firearm, I'm sorry. You could've spent a little more and purchased quality, but that price just roped you in, didn't it? I'm prepared for the "my uncle fudd has one with 3 bajillion rounds through it and never jammed." Good for him. He probably also dated his cousin at some point in his life, but no one ever brings that up. "But it was made on Smith and Wesson tooling". That window tastes goooood, doesn't it? Keep licking it little buddy. No, they aren't. They shared designs in the early 70s because they were owned by the same parent company. Their designs are very similar in their revolvers for this reason. The major difference is I can get parts for a Smith. Spend hours on hold, four emails, and still haven't been able to get a single part for a Taurus. Know how I finally got a live person on the phone? Accessed their corporate directory and just start dialing random extensions. I think I talked to a confused HR rep, but still no parts! I promise you, I will never have another Taurus in my shop. I won't Cerakote them, I won't clean them, I won't even consider looking at it. Something as simple as a missing screw will turn into HOURS of frustration. Save your money and buy a Hi Point if you can't afford more. At least they will answer the damn phone.
