Just in case you don't know, wd40 will penetrate the primers and make them not detonate or give very poor performance.

I KNEW a good gunsmith years ago that used brake parts cleaner. PB Blaster would certainly get it done but would be more of a mess.Brake cleaner and/or PB Blaster. Not WD40
Brake parts cleaner won't hurt the finish. Carb and fuel injector cleaner WILL strip finishes. I know this because the gunsmith I mentioned earlier told a customer to use brake parts cleaner but the guy got confused and bought carb cleaner. I saw the end results which was a pissed off customer standing at the gun shop showing us a completely stripped bare steel Ruger P85. It was VERY hard not to fall in the floor laughing.I'll try some brake cleaner or hops. Leave it in for a few hours. Will it take off the finish?
Well it's gonna be nothing but guessing at it from where we all are.My first best suggestion would be for you to take to a Meet and Greet where several members plan to attend.I think there's one coming up on the 10th around the north Atlanta area.If you can make it there I'm pretty sure one of the many old grey haired Crackers hanging around there can help you figure it out.Well if anyone has any idea what I wrong then do tell
