Who all here still believes in or has given their kids gut baths on their first kill? I gave my son a gut bath (or what I called a gut bath, smeared blood under his eyes, only because I had to drop him off at his vegetarian grandmothers house and didn't want that argument of why he is covered in entrails and other matter lol)

Amen brother! The funniest part was after he shot it he patted himself on the back and said "got my 1st deer" - I had to tell him, "no, you shot your 1st deer, it got up and ran off, now we have to track it" - When I found it I said "there it is" - he actually asked me if I was sure it was his deer. Ground shrinkage?

Haha ahh yes, the terrible affliction that pleages us all! It still bites me in the a$$ once or twice a season! A man never forgets his first, rather it be first kiss, first love, first car, first kill...and my first bow kill had ground growth! Shot it for a doe at 20 yards broadside and when I got to "HIM" he had knobs just breaking through the skin and was considerably smaller than he was 30 minutes prior! I was sick, for all of about 5 minutes lol

I have a few I am going to share with some different scenarios just because they all mean alot to me and are first or special situations, may not fit exactly but are cool reads or at least good pics to look at lol. Here is my wifes first deer ever a few years ago. Here is her first Piggy around the same time maybe the next year.

Here is Josies first Big buck we found for a client. Tracked many for me and for others as far as regular deer but first bow kill that went over 150 she found anyway. 36 hour old track and in the rain went about half mile is my guess but was before she had her gps.

My daughter Sadie Was born last November 25th. I had been having a rough year hunting. Wounded two shooters already. One for shur made it the other never got any pics of. Was a bad year. Had plenty of meat just no Bone on the ground. Then she was born I slept at the hospital woke up at 4 am and my wife said go hunt if you want to. So i ran over to the stand almost turned around etc and went back but had that feeling. Climbed up and a 3 point ran a doe by twice. Next thing i know at 34 yards this guy came up and I let him tote a rage. Not really Sadie's first buck but Kinda cool and I gave it that title lol. Not my biggest bowkill but for where I hunt a good mature deer anyhow.

LOL. If that's not your biggest I'd like to see a pic of the one that's bigger. Looks dang good to me!

Here is my biggest ever . Its a bowkill from ga . 162 gross. would have been a bit more but broke off his g2 in the back where it forked. still 13 scorable points and double brows on one side and turkey foot on the other. all pics of same deer ill have to dig out the score sheet but he was real wide too i think 23 inches give or take.
