Wow its actually fairly rare that we so many venomous snakes on here.

You need to paint your house in moth balls! They always are around your house ever year. 
Havent seen sign on the carport of rodents but I am going to (carefully) check it out. Neighbor killed one several weeks ago and just found a big shed skin on his deck rail. My dogs are getting good at keeping them in place and letting me know.
Keep the lid on the trash cans!
Ive lived here 15 years. First twelve years I saw 4 or 5 rattlers in the area total. The last three years: 15 or so at least. Five of them were at my house.
A three foot rattlesnake will get out of a 50 gallon trash can with no lid I promise!
