This year's gun bill...

I don't know about 25, but there are legitimate findings that show the myelin sheaths around neurons are not fully developed until the very late teens or early twenties. Of course individuals all develop at their own rates and no one has ever said that this was a good measure of 'being rational' anyways.

I will say if there is an age limit to rights, then it needs to be consistent across the board. If you cannot get a carry permit, you shouldn't get a drivers license (only a privilege anyway and far more dangerous) or be able to vote either. You shouldn't be able to sign a contract, get married (same thing really) or join the Army. Etc., etc., etc.

The second amendment is the only legislation we need. End of story.

If it were only so simple.

The infringements that the people have tolerated in the almighty name of "Public Safety" that honestly are not only serve to criminalize what was once legal and proper. Those infringements in practice only serve to deter the honest from exercising both the right to acquire and bear firearms.

Restoring that which has over decades been stolen will not be accomplished in one legislative session. Honestly addressing those who fear guns with clear data that accurately reflects the true nature of restrictive gun laws and appropriately supports legal firearms carry will effectively serve Public Safety, a common goal for everyone.

We fight the philosophy that guns are evil and a clear threat to public safety. That philosophy is embraced and supported through fear and emotion. The far left utilize dishonest polls, pseudo science and statistical puffery all the while collectively ignoring the positive impact and benefit that firearms provide to a free society.

We armed citizens are not a liability, we serve effectively Public Safety and are the most effective deterrent to violent crime as well the people's insurance to resist tyranny, the true purpose and intent of our right.

The troll pic is inappropriate.

Two weeks ago, a Georgia bill that would have allowed concealed carry on public university campuses finally failed, after languishing in limbo for more than a year. But those who supported it haven’t given up the fight, not by a long shot. Rep. Rick Jasperse has introduced and sponsored HB 875 which would simply decriminalize concealed carry on campus entirely. Under the terms of the bill, licensed carriers found to be carrying on campus would no longer be subject to arrest, but only face a civil fine of up to $100. The bill would also. . .

It's not illegal to carry a firearm on campus but if caught you'll pay a fine?? That makes A LOT of sense...

That's just another way for the state to create revenue IMO.

We will have our foot in the door for next year. It's a big step that keeps the antis somewhat happy, but gives us an out in the future. Our rights have been eroded slowly, it's a slow process making them legal again. I dont know why the board of regents has so much power at the capitol, but they do. This language doesn't illicit a full blown protest, which is what we had last year. Hang in there, we'll get where we should be.

So that's alnen? Dang he looks like his frontal lobe has a few more years to mature! :becky:

Very good job alnen. I appreciate you addressing that AJC poll and correctly mentioning the way polls manipulate the results based on how (intentional) worded. I also like the fact you note another poll which reflected 90% for campus carry.
