It confirms some of my beliefs on the issue of gun bills in GA, if true.

Dear GCO Member,
We told you yesterday that the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Non-Civil Committee Jesse Stone has applied for a judgeship that will be appointed by Governor Nathan Deal and it was rumored he would have his own substitute bill for the hearing today. It is official, he has filed a substitute bill that will be introduced at the hearing of his committee meeting scheduled for later today. The new sub is an abortion that not only strips the bill of government buildings and the restoration of private property rights for churches and bars but adds domestic family violence battery and other language that is totally unacceptable to GeorgiaCarry.Org and the NRA.
This morning at 11:45 AM, HB60 was placed on the desk of all House members. HB60 has passed both chambers and was passed as a substitute bill in Jesse Stone's Committee. The purpose of the bill is to add retired judges to the exemption statute, 16-11-130.
The House will amend HB60 to include the addition of most of the language in HB875. The only noteworthy language the bill will not have is the $100 fine for carrying on campus. The rest of the bill is basically in tact as it passed the House originally with some clerical changes that needed to be made. When the House passes the amendment, they will return it to the Senate where the Senate can either agree to the changes or not agree. If the Senate agrees, the bill will be passed and transmitted to the governor for his action.
If the Senate disagrees, a conference committee will be appointed, (3 members of the House appointed by the Speaker and 3 members of the Senate appointed by the Lt. Governor). The conference committee will meet and try to reach an agreement on the bill language. If and when such language is agreed to by a majority of conference committee members, the bill will then be sent to each chamber for a vote. If both chambers vote to pass the bill, it will be sent to the governor for his action.
Should the bill reach the governor's desk; the governor will have 3 options. Sign it and it becomes law. Ignore it for 40 days and it becomes law. Veto the bill and send it back to the chambers.

Continue to Contact Officials
Now, we need you to continue to contact the Governor, Lt. Governor and your Senator. We need to fill everyone's email box and voice mail if they are not already full. We need to send the following message to everyone in those positions:
Simply tell them you are a "member of GeorgiaCarry.Org and you want this bill passed as it passed the House. There is no reason for the State of Georgia to continue to deny your God given constitutionally enumerated rights to self-protection. It is time the Senate passes a good gun bill that allows law-abiding citizens to protect themselves wherever they might be. Please pass HB60 as it was amended and passed by the House."
It is imperative that we let these people know that we want to see HB60 passed as it was amended and passed the House. Be short and to the point in all communications with your senator. As we have stated in the past and continue to state, please show your elected officials respect when contacting them in any manner. Threats of never voting for them get you nowhere very quickly and hurt, rather than help our cause.
